At the square of Jílové, in the house called Coin, you will find an interesting exposition Gold in the Czech Republic. You can get acquainted there with the history of gold mining and processing, with old geological and mining maps, with tools used and with many other exhibits and during the summer period you may try to pan for gold from gold-bearing sand of Sázava river yourself. You may be lucky as the town environs were the biggest gold field in Europe in the 12th and 13th centuries. You can get acquainted with the history of the region in another part of the exposition.
