Exposition “Landscape in Czech art of the 17th to the 20th century” present the development of Czech landscape painters. It shows the development of the scenic and thematic tradition of Czech landscape-painting commencing with Baroque authors who introduced landscape theme as a separate genre, and continuing with landscape painters of the 18th and 19th centuries who contributed to the national self-awareness through artistic presentation of Czech landscape, paintings presenting dramatic landscape changes in the 19th and the 20th centuries, till its present-day form. Exposition introduces the most significant artists and it refers to certain specific aspects of the landscape-painting, such as veduta, landscape with social aspect or fantasy landscape.
