Náprstek museum of Asian, African and American cultures

The museum was founded by Vojta Náprstek, significant Czech patriot, in 1862 and it is one of the oldest European museums in this field. In the exposition “Indian cultures in North and South America” you will find original evidence of life and culture of Indian ethnics from prehistoric ages till today. The oldest part of the exposition comprises collections of first missionaries and settlers. The exposition “Cultures of Australia and Oceania” includes over 6,000 articles including wooden cudgel from Rajch islands donated to the Náprstek museum collections by Jindřich Malý already in 1877.
