Museum of Bedřich Smetana

Museum of Bedřich Smetana, founded in 1926, is placed in Renaissance Revival building of the former Old town water works built in the eighties of the 19th century. You will find it in close neighbourhood of the Charles Bridge, at the place offering beautiful view of Prague Castle panorama. The museum administers extensive collection and the artist’s inheritance represents the core of the collection. Get acquainted with the life and work of important Czech musical composer Bedřich Smetana, author of many national operas and of symphonic poem My country, the work opening the Prague Spring musical festival for over sixty years.
