Join us in an excursion to Kutná Hora and discover its unique history. In importance it ranks right after the Royal Town of Prague. Kutná Hora was the treasury and the gem of the country whose wealth placed the Czech Kingdom on the pedestal of fame and might. As far back as the year 985, silver Denars were coined here and in 1471 Vladislav Jagellonský was elected as the next Czech King at a ceremony held in the Royal Mint. The city is literally loaded with relics of extreme historic and art value, such as the imposing Cathedral of St. Barbora, founded in 1388. It ranks among Europe's most splendid gothic cathedrals. As of the year 1995, Kutná Hora is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. |
