Clementinum - The Baroque Library

After more than 250 years, during which the library was closed to the public, you can now visit this unique place, built for the needs of the Jesuit College in the mid-18th century. The Baroque bookcases with their beautiful inlaid decoration hold tens of thousands of rare volumes and manu-scripts, including the richly and beautifully illuminated Vyšehrad Codex of the 11th century. The bookcases are original, and date to 1727. See for yourself how the copula of the Temple of Wisdom is a truly illusive painting. The unique astronomical and geographic globes are also worth noting.
